The Hopeful EarthKeepers team of the Minnesota Annual Conference has undertaken a transformational journey towards land acknowledgement over the past several years.
“A Land Acknowledgement is a formal statement that recognizes and respects Indigenous Peoples as traditional stewards of this land and the enduring relationship that exists between Indigenous Peoples and their traditional territories.” lspirg.org/knowtheland
When several EarthKeepers in our group expressed interest in writing these statements, a rich multi-year conversation began that has evolved into a six-session learning journey. We offered this opportunity over Zoom twice in 2022 and now the materials are available online for those who are interested in embarking upon their own transformational journey.
Materials include a detailed facilitator guide, presenter slides, and participant guidebook. The journey also uses the text On This Spirit Walk, by Henrietta Mann and Anita Phillips.
