Beginning September 1st, the world-wide Christian Church will celebrate the birthday of Creation in a united voice. This special time, starting with the day already known as the World Day of Prayer for Creation, takes on new significance for 2026 with the first-ever celebration of the holy observance Creation in Christ. As such, as a worshiping people, we open the September newsletter with a prayer. Listen! Around the world this September, hear millions of Christians speak of hope. Join the movement of the many congregations this month that are, further, celebrating the Season of Creation filled with prayer, song, and worship. As we offer these newsletter pages, we do so inspired by the many stories shared here this month. We renew our pledge to engage and inspire young people, to learn and participate with others in green teams, advocacy, readiness, and sanctuary. We are grateful to all who share this journey.

A September Prayer for the Beginning of Creation
Creator God, we praise you for the beauty and abundance of your Creation. We remember with awe the sheer enormity of all that you have made together with your Word, and by the wind of the Spirit. You made everything in perfect order for life and goodness for all time. Let your blessings fall as gentle rain. Bless our families, bless our communities, and comfort those who have been harmed by wildfires, floods, fires, and drought. Teach and strengthen us, so we may offer care to our neighbors and keep this land and this Earth in good order, as you commanded us. Amen.
