Hope for the Future

“It meant so much to me that a decision-maker was listening to our stories and understands what’s going on.”—Rikki Held, 22-year-old plaintiff in the winning first-ever climate trial

“I got involved with creation justice through working with my grandparents.” –Ella Althoff, 16-year-old, activist and mission-trip participant

Whether through family, friends, mission trips, or legal actions, young people are acting on behalf of what they experience now and what they hope for the future. In many cases, the connection to their church has given them knowledge, encouragement, and opportunity to make a difference.

In this issue—and in life—we celebrate the role of young persons as they lead by example, speak prophetically, and call all of us to accountability—and hope.
