As a parent holds a child with compassion,
So the Spirit wraps her arms around us all,
Then calls us to the ways of Wisdom true,
Teaches, guides, inspires all we say and do,
So that all may learn and grow,

As a shepherd holds a lamb with compassion,
So does Jesus wrap his arms around us all,
Then calls to us in word and action bold,
Care for all, for there is just one fold,
No one ever left alone,

As we look upon the world with compassion,
So does God wrap loving arms around us all,
Calls us to guard creation’s sacred store,
Turn and pledge to pillage the earth no more,
Until Eden blooms again,
