Educational Presentations for You to Use With Your Congregation

Climate Change Education Resources

In the aftermath of destabilizing events, such as hurricanes and other storms, flooding, and fires, more people may be open to learning that counters the misinformation and divisive language that has been so pervasive. The church is a trusted source with its emphasis on love, caring for those who have been harmed, and inclusivity that says all are worthy of help. You may have new opportunities to lead people to greater understanding and action.

Here are three PowerPoint presentations with presenter notes for your use in any setting you choose. You may also add, modify, or delete any portion of the slide deck so that it better suits your audience and time slots. The images on the PowerPoints are free for educational usage.

The files are numbered but can be used in any order or combination:

  1. Climate Change Explained
  2. Climate Change and Justice
  3. God’s Good Gifts

Some include breaks and questions for discussion. Feel free to incorporate those or add or press on as you choose.

The goals of providing these presentations are to give you readily accessible materials that help people—

  1. Understand the terminology, science, and justice issues related to climate change.
  2. Recognize opportunities and commit to action that is faithful in caring for creation and justice.
