As United Methodists we have a shared mission to “make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.” In a rapidly changing world facing climate instability, energy transition, and political diruption, we have the opportunity as people who follow in the way of Christ to shape those changes in ways that increase love and compassion and support the flourishing of all God’s good creation.

This June newsletter highlights rapid changes underway in our global energy system and offers resources and inspiration to help steer those changes towards clean renewable options that support justice for all. As you gather for worship in your local congregations and possibly also at annual conference sessions over the coming months, we encourage you to talk about these energy transformations and explore ways you can integrate them into your ministry plans.

To quote indigenous Guam lawyer Julian Aguon, “all of us, without exception, are qualified to participate in the rescue of the world.”
