Climate Action Legislation

It is time to prepare legislation in anticipation of good conversations and productive outcomes around creation justice during annual conferences in 2026. Every year the Movement offers model resolutions that can be adapted and/or modified as needed for each annual conference. Together, these resolutions affirm the words and work of the United Methodist Books of Discipline and Resolutions and moves the church toward realistic and urgent action. At the January Movement Café Movement leaders will introduce resolutions recommended for 2026.
Why is legislation for climate action urgent and faithful? Author Rev. Sharon Delgado joins us to share the vital “why” of the work of creation justice in the United Methodist context. Her newly revised book, “Love in a Time of Climate Change” is a valuable resource in preparation for annual conference conversations and the urgent need for faithful action. (Find the Revised Edition Bookshop.org, at Fortress Press, or on Amazon.)
