This Net Zero Legislation at General Conference 2024 Study Guide is designed as a 5 – 6-week adult group study. The guide includes five chapters and articles that can be completed at the pace of one each week, with an added week to review if desired. The focus legislation in this study guide is now part of the governing documents of The United Methodist Church.

The chapters focus on legislation and reflection that intersects with net-zero action. Each chapter offers a summary and goal of the legislation, a bio of the legislation author, a Scripture reflection, prayer, and opportunity to brainstorm and work through next steps in context.

Between the chapters are stories about the legislation and the people who wrote and submitted that legislation for consideration, as well as the importance of the net-zero effort in The United Methodist Church. This study guide will be published on the Caretakers of God’s Creation and The United Methodist Creation Justice Movement website, whose teams and volunteers helped to make this legislation possible.
